Finding your site

The quickest way to start is to find your site on the map and trace over the aerial photo. Airship calibrates the drawing to real-world scale for you.

🔍 Find a site… at the top of the Site boundary section opens a chooser with three ways to start:

• Load the map at a location — type a postcode, town or address and the map jumps there.
• Find development land — search England's brownfield land registers for sites with real capacity. See the Development Finder.
• Import a CAD survey — trace over a measured DXF or DWG. See CAD underlays.

You are only asked for a location on the path that needs one — the land search has its own.

Aerial or street imagery

Use the imagery selector to switch between aerial (satellite) and street (map) tiles, and the zoom control to move between wider context and close detail. Aerial is best for tracing an existing site; street is useful for context and road names.

Search resolution

The Resolution setting (in Algorithm & settings) controls how finely the generator works — higher resolution packs more precisely but takes a little longer. The default suits most sites.
