Trying alternatives & live sliders
After you generate, a cycle bar appears at the bottom of the canvas. It lets you explore alternatives and tune the result without regenerating from scratch.
The controls
- ◀ ▶ options — step back and forward through the layouts already generated. Each Optimise keeps several candidates.
- Try another — generate a fresh alternative from a new random seed.
- Green slider — dials the target green-space fraction up or down; the layout re-fits live as you drag.
- Overlap slider — controls how much rear gardens may overlap, trading garden depth for more plots.
- Align — nudges streets to align with the site shape.
- Live — when on, dragging a slider regenerates continuously; turn it off to apply on release.
- Done — keep the current option, dismiss the bar and unlock editing.
Editing waits for Done. While the bar is up the layout is still a preview — the next Try another replaces it wholesale — so the Tools palette and the Content Library are greyed out, and any drawing tool you had armed steps back to Edit. Click ✓ Done to settle on the option you are looking at and start editing it. Panning, zooming and the option controls themselves keep working throughout.
Workflow. Roll a handful with Try another, step back through them with the arrows to compare plot counts in the stats panel, then settle on the best and start editing.
