✏️Editing tools
Selecting, moving & deleting
Use the Edit tool to add, select, move, rotate, snap and delete houses and roads after generating.
The right-click menu
Right-click anywhere for a shortcut back to Edit, to reshape what you clicked, or to start any drawing tool.
Selecting several at once
Select a group of houses and objects with a box or Ctrl-click, then move, rotate, copy, duplicate, delete or lock them together.
Roads, paths & driveways
Draw and edit roads, shared drives, footpaths and driveways by hand, and bend any road with spline curve handles.
Highways compliance checks
Measure bend radii, visibility splays, junction spacing, turning spaces and widths against Durham, Manual for Streets or your own rule set — drawn straight on the plan, numbered in the exports.
Vehicle swept path & tracking
Drive a refuse truck, fire appliance, car or articulated HGV along any route — true tractrix swept-path analysis with UK drive-line conventions, opposing-lane reporting and animated playback in 2D and 3D.
Walking checks: routes, detours and severed neighbours
How far homes walk to leave the site, where a route is much longer than a connected network would make it, and where a short path would bring neighbours together — on every plan.
Bin collection and street checks
Bin stores in house types and the library, how far residents and crews move bins, and whether each street suits the number of homes it serves.
The design review: good-practice checks
The second group in Checks — layout, access, refuse, planting and numbering findings that are about good practice rather than geometry, and what each one rests on.
Site conditions: the ground the checks judge against
Soil, pH, shrinkable clay, hardiness and distance to the coast — the five values the planting checks read, where they come from, and what happens when they are not recorded.
Split road & fill with houses
Cut a road into two with the Split tool, and populate any road with fronting houses using Fill.
Plot numbers, house type marks, text labels & tags
Number plots, mark each house with its type code, add free text labels with fonts, leaders and auto-scaling, and tag objects with labels that read their name and mark from the object itself.
The scale bar
Place a scale bar on the plan — chequered, ticked or plain, with an optional 1:n ratio.
The true north marker
Place a north point on the plan, pick an arrow, set its size and its exact bearing, or use your own CAD block or SVG.
Sketch views
Take copies of the sketch and style each one — paper, ink, shading, hand-drawn line, and fill colour, line colour and weight per category.
Measuring distances
Measure lengths on the 2D plan and X/Y/Z distances in the 3D model with the dimension tool.
Existing buildings & keep-outs
Place existing buildings and exclusion zones the generator must design around.
Fences, walls & panel runs
Draw boundary treatments as fences, masonry walls or repeated panel runs — each with its own style, materials, piers and coping.
Green areas, trees & woodland
Add public open space, grass, shrubs, hedges and individual or woodland trees that the layout designs around and renders in 3D.
Water bodies & SuDS
Draw attenuation basins, retention ponds and ornamental lakes with real depths and side slopes — and check the storage they provide against what your scheme actually needs.
The content library
Browse and place ready-made 3D objects — houses, cars, trees, street furniture and amenities — onto your scheme, and recolour them for one object or for the whole project.
Site set-up & security (temporary works)
Plan a residential site's temporary works and security: CCTV towers and sentries with their view splays, the camera schedule, site cabins and plant, Heras fencing, barriers and gates.
Locking objects in place
Pin a house, road, driveway, parking space, object or zone (event zones, green areas, car-park areas, existing buildings) so that no edit gesture and no regeneration can move it.
Object marks: a reference on every object
Every placed object has its own mark (C01, SF02, WA07): a category prefix and a number that increments as you place. Set the prefixes per project, edit a number, and show marks on tags, schedules and exports.
Smart align: lining up objects, houses and parking spaces
Library objects, houses and parking spaces line up, butt up and match spacing with what is next to them while you drag or place them, with guides and gaps in metres; houses keep their building line and side gaps, parking spaces butt up in rows; how to place freely, switch it off, and tidy a selection of objects and houses with Align, Distribute and Match rotation.
