Signing in & confirming your email
There are three ways into your account, and one small thing we ask for once.
Ways to sign in
- Email and password — the usual way.
- A one-time link — press ✉️ Email me a sign-in link on the sign-in page and we’ll send a link that signs you straight in. No password to remember. The link expires after 15 minutes and works only once, so an old email in your inbox is not a way into your account.
- Single sign-on Enterprise — sign in with your organisation’s Microsoft or Okta account. Your identity provider confirms who you are, so there is nothing else to confirm.
Confirming your email
When you create an account we email you a link to confirm the address. Until you do, a banner sits at the top of the app with a Send it again button.
It does not stop you designing. Trace sites, generate layouts, edit and save as much as you like. Confirming is only asked for where a working address actually matters:
- Sharing a design by link — that publishes it to anyone holding the URL.
- Inviting someone to your workspace — that sends email in your name.
- Subscribing — we need somewhere to send receipts and any payment problem.
Signing in through a one-time email link confirms your address at the same time, because receiving it proves the address reaches you. If the original email never arrived, check your spam folder, then use Send it again.
If you have forgotten your password
Use ✉️ Email me a sign-in link. It signs you in without a password, so it is the way back into your account — there is no separate “forgot password” flow to hunt for.
Deleting your account
Your name in the top-right → Edit profile → Delete account…, then type DELETE to confirm. This removes your account, all your designs and your workspace, and it cannot be undone. Export anything you want to keep first.
What we ask for when you sign up
Your name, and optionally your company, what best describes your work (architect, planner, housebuilder, engineer and so on) and how you heard about us. Only the name is required. It is used to address you in the app and on forum posts and tickets; the rest helps us build the right things for the people actually using it.
Email preferences
There are two kinds of email from us, and they behave differently:
- Essential messages — confirming your address, sign-in links, receipts, workspace invitations and replies to your support tickets. These always come, because they are part of running your account.
- Product updates — occasional news about new features. You can stop these at any time.
Three ways to turn product updates off, all of which do the same thing:
- The Unsubscribe link in the footer of any product update email.
- Your mail app's own Unsubscribe button — Gmail and Outlook show one at the top of the message.
- Email me product updates in your profile, reached from your name in the top-right of the dashboard → Edit profile.
